What are OEM parts? What Do NLA And Back-Order(B/O) Parts Mean?

Guaranteed Parts is a market-leading supplier of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing), replacement parts, and accessories for a diverse range of Residential and Commercial appliances.

OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. These are parts that are supplied by the same manufacturer that made the appliance and are said to be OEM replacements. You should always first look for genuine factory repair parts.

Sometimes when looking for an OEM part online you may come across the word NLA in the description. What does this mean: The part is No Longer Available from the manufacturer. If no price is listed, it means the part’s NLA and there are many times a price is listed, it might not officially be NLA, but you can’t get it anymore from the manufacturer. We at Guaranteed Parts invest time seeking hard to find replacement parts for you and have an extensive list of NLA parts still available – (Click here to see a list of NLA parts we have in stock) & (Click here to see a list of BACKORDER parts we have in stock)
Should an original replacement part be discontinued by the manufacturer (NLA), it’s time to look for an aftermarket or universal replacement part.

Replacement part numbers (substituted p/n) are designed to fit the appliance and may be made by the same company that supplies the originals or they may be produced by an outside source not affiliated with the appliance manufacturer in any way. In most cases, these will be an exact (or very close) fit to the original part but their specifications may vary slightly from the originals. It is very important to provide the correct Brand, Model, Article #, Type, Product Code, and the Serial number of your unit to ensure the correct part choice.

Backorder (B/O) is when the part in question is not in stock. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, this problem is more prevalent. When Guaranteed Parts have parts on backorder, we then have to order more parts from the factory and then forward that shipment to our warehouse. We do our best to let our customers know what we have in stock and can ship and what’s on backorder. Sometimes we get the estimated time of arrival (ETA) from the manufacturer so we can relay it to our customers. They can therefore make informed decisions on whether they want to wait or seek the part elsewhere.
